Optimize This! Enhancing the Quality and Consistency of Cannabis and Extraction

Everyone makes the best extracts. But are they optimized? And what does “the best” mean; does it mean high yield, high quality, or both? And what is quality anyway? Quality begins in the cultivation process and continues throughout the handling of the product from seed to sale. At OutCo, we’ve studied our production pipeline and extraction methodologies to offer optimized products to our patients. Finding the ideal balance between yield and consumer rating, we were able to optimize extraction protocols for controlled mixtures of compounds. Our custom methods enable us to create products with designer cannabinoid and terpene ratios, customized to patients’ and doctors’ needs. All of this was achieved in an efficient manner through the use of design of experiment (DoE) techniques, and continuous improvement of all processes.

Initial Evaluation of the ClearLLab 10C System in the Immunophenotyping of Leukemia and Lymphoma

Workcast

Mike Keeney from Lawson Health Research Institute, Ontario, will present "Initial evaluation of the ClearLLab 10C System in the Immunophenotyping of Leukemia and Non Hodgkin Lymphoma". The presentation will introduce the new ClearLLab 10 Color System and the ClearLLab Control Cells, the first application-specific IVD control cells for leukemia and lymphoma* immunophenotyping as part of a validated system. He will then demonstrate the applicability of the system in evaluation of leukemia at Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and will evaluate the results of the clinical accuracy study.

Predicting TCR Specificity with Multiomic Single-Cell Sequencing

T cell receptors (TCRs) allow the adaptive immune system to recognize and respond to a vast array of threats, ranging from viruses to malignant cells. Single-cell sequencing has made it possible to explore an individual’s TCR repertoire and quantify changes due to an immune response. To fully unlock the great potential of these measurements we need to know which antigens each TCR binds.

Application of Treadmill Exercise Using Mice as a Model for Studying the Influence of Maternal Exercise on Offspring Metabolic Reprogramming

Epidemiological studies show the beneficial effects of exercise during pregnancy in alleviating birth-related complications and improving neonatal metabolic health, whereas the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. A protocol for maternal exercise (ME) of mice facilitates mechanistic exploration based on the regimen of the exercise guidelines for pregnant women. Treadmill exercise allows precise control of exercise intensity and duration compared to voluntary wheel running exercise, which leads to reduced variations among individual mouse within treatments and facilitates translation into ME in humans.
