Application of Treadmill Exercise Using Mice as a Model for Studying the Influence of Maternal Exercise on Offspring Metabolic Reprogramming

Application_of_Treadmill
Epidemiological studies show the beneficial effects of exercise during pregnancy in alleviating birth-related complications and improving neonatal metabolic health, whereas the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. A protocol for maternal exercise (ME) of mice facilitates mechanistic exploration based on the regimen of the exercise guidelines for pregnant women. Treadmill exercise allows precise control of exercise intensity and duration compared to voluntary wheel running exercise, which leads to reduced variations among individual mouse within treatments and facilitates translation into ME in humans.

Soft Tissue Cancer-IHC Webinar

Merck KGaA

Soft tissue tumors are a broad group of neoplasms that involve the connective tissue of the body. Each year, over 13,000 people in the US are diagnosed with soft tissue sarcomas and over 5,000 people succumb to the malignancy. Because soft tissue sarcomas are very ambiguous and amorphous, many time sarcomas are classified as an uncertain type. Advances in immunohistochemistry, as well as the utility of novel markers such as TFE3, TLE1, MyoD1, and MUC4, have aided pathologists in classifying these soft tissue tumors. This discussion will cover the key facts and statistics about soft tissue tumors and what role IHC plays in these difficult diagnoses.
