IN SITU BIOREMEDIATION AND IN SITU CHEMICAL REDUCTION FOR REMEDIATION OF 1,2,3-TRICHLOROPROPANE IN GROUNDWATER

1,2,3-trichloropropane (TCP) is an emerging groundwater contaminant that is present in widely-used soil fumigants. Individual states have or are in the process of developing regulatory levels for TCP that are as low as 0.0005 micrograms per litre (µg/L). Remedial technologies for TCP that have been implemented at scales ranging from laboratory treatability studies to full-scale field implementation include in situ bioremediation (ISB) and in situ chemical reduction (ISCR).
