GlaxoSmithKline and Vir Biotechnology Inc. said Monday they have signed a binding coronavirus research and development agreement. As part of the agreement, GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) will invest $250 million in Vir (NASDAQ: VIR). GlaxoSmithKline, based in London, has large operations in Philadelphia and Montgomery County. Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. announced that a three-judge arbitration panel has issued a final decision in a dispute with Alkermes PLC regarding licensing royalties relating to AMPYRA. Acorda was awarded $15 million plus prejudgment interest of $1.5 million from Alkermes.
